Michael Pepper has jumped onto the English cricketing scene and made a name for himself in a quick while. The dynamic keeper-batter was born on 25th June 1998 in Essex and his cricketing journey also started from representing Essex. Interestingly, he made his first-class debut on his birthday against Somerset at Chelmsford.

Essex held a high regard for Michael and provided him with a lot of opportunities. He became a fabled hitter batting at the top of the order and carrying out the enforcer’s work most of the time. Key to Pepper’s success with the bat was his ability to tackle both pace and spin and he always seems to have options on both parts of the ground. His calculated footwork and array of shots against the spinners makes him one to watch out for not just at the top of the order but also in the middle order. Apart from his batting, his keeping skills get better with each day as he’s seen to be becoming more & more secure behind the wickets with each game.

Although Michael has a young career, the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders will be pleased to have him in the squad and will be trusting him to get the job done for them most of the time. Pepper will also be looking to make the most of the opportunity provided to him and churning out performances that help towards the win for the side. Overall, an exciting new journey begins for Michael with the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the upcoming season of ILT20.
