The Knights faced off against the Sharjah Warriors at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in a much anticipated encounter. ADKR were coming off a couple of solid victories and looked to capitalize on their winning momentum to grab another 2 crucial points. The last time these two sides faced each other, it was the Knight Riders who came out victorious and they looked to replicate the same in an important away game. The fans were exhilarated & looking forward to seeing their Knights put on a strong performance.

ADKR were without their Skipper this game as Narine was out with a niggle. Dre-Russ took on the role of captaincy in Sunny’s absence as ADKR won the toss and chose to field first. The bowling duo of Little & Willey were all over the Sharjah top-order right at the start of the game as ADKR picked constant wickets in the powerplay. The Knights continued their relentless attack reducing the opposition to as low as 26/4 at the end of the powerplay. Little was just too good to play for the SW batters as he rattled the opposition batters’ stumps on more than one occasion. Ravi Bopara’s experience with the ball came into the mix as he picked up 4 wickets and cleaned up the middle to lower order in a flash. The Sharjah Warriors were bowled out on a modest total of 75, leaving ADKR an easy run-chase to look forward to.

The Knights came out all guns blazing in the run-chase as they looked to knock over the target in a hurry. The ADKR openers attacked the opposition bowlers right from the outset and continued relentlessly. The Knights completed the run-chase in mere 8 overs and went on to clinch the victory by _ wickets. An absolute domination led by the bowlers and finished off powerfully from the batters will provide ADKR with a lot of confidence. The 5th win of the season came in grand fashion and boosted ADKR’s net run-rate, putting them in a comfortable position to qualify for the playoffs. The Knights will take a lot of positives from this effort and will be looking to replicate a similar performance as they face the Warriors in a day’s time in their home. Overall an amazing win to savour for ADKR and their fans.
